NCMC services are geared toward enhancing social, economic, mental health development the of members of Etobicoke Centre and the GTA. Our programs include arts exhibition, cultural festivals, orientation programs for new immigrants, mental health awareness, youth and women empowerment programs, and more! We serve all ethnicities in Etobicoke Centre, including new immigrants of African descent in the GTA. We teach the community African cultural heritage through arts and cultural festivals. We work with professionals in different fields, including legal, mental health and healthcare professionals to assist our clients with their diverse needs.
Our programs include
- Client assessment and in-take sessions.
- Job search (working with employment organizations to support immigrants with job search, employment orientation workshops, and seminars).
- Orientation programs for new immigrants (e.g., job search workshop, apprenticeship grant program, info session, and more).
- Foreign credential validation (partnering with other organizations to support our clients in validating their foreign credentials).
- Youth programs (e.g., youth summer program, youth empowerment, and educational programs).
- Women’s empowerment programs (Mother’s Day, International Women’s Day, and more.
- Cultural festivals, amplifying Canadian Multiculturalism (e.g., the annual Edo Language Day celebration, inclusion and social justice seminars, and others).
- Mental health awareness programs (e.g., wellness program, mindfulness, art program, Afrocentric mental health awareness, and more).
