NCMC provides mental health promotion and awareness (e.g., online and in-person wellness, mindfulness, and art workshops), including Afrocentric-based mental health awareness. We will utilize various media and social media platforms (radio, community newspapers, TV channels, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others) and community outreach to promote mental health awareness. We collaborate with other mental health organizations and professionals to address the needs of our clients and improve the well-being of our community members, especially the vulnerable groups.
Our core responsibility is to amplify the mental health awareness in our community and build a society where all citizens will receive effective, culturally appropriate, and equitable mental health services and awareness.
This year Black Mental Health Week has be scheduled for March 4-10 with the theme, ‘Growth and Reflection. This reflects the UN’s International Decade for People of African Descent.
